Minneapolis City is partnering with long-time kit provider Stimulus Athletic to open a new retail store in Northeast Minneapolis, near 9th Street Soccer & Coffee. The new space will replace the club’s existing shop in south Minneapolis.
“We have found great success with the shop” said Dan Hoedeman, club co-founder. “But, as supporters know, we weren’t able to offer the open hours that would have made it a convenient option.”
The partnership with Stimulus, a local company founded by former professional soccer player Geison Moura, brings great benefits for both growing organizations: open hours every day of the week, more retail space, more office space, and, for City, it is a move into a location with consistent heat and air conditioning.
“We love Minneapolis City” said Moura “and have been growing together with them over the years. We have similar drive, values, and desire to be in Minneapolis.”
“Moving in together was the obvious next step” continued Hoedeman.
The existing store will close at the end of October. The new store in Northeast will open in early December.
